European Talent Competition
A
s part of the European Talent Competition, the WDR FILMSCORE AWARD and the EUROPEAN TALENT AWARD SOUND DESIGN are presented. For this competition, young composers and sound designers were invited to create the music and sound design for the short film "FAKE NEWS" (Dir: David Seul). The finalist teams are presented to the jury and the audience.
The finalists will present their works to the audience and jury during the competition screening at SoundTrack_Cologne,taking place on July 17th at 10:30 at Cinema Odeon.
The award gala will take place on Friday, July 17th, 2026 at 19:00 at the COMEDIA Theater Roter Saal.
The winner of the WDR FILMSCORE AWARD will have the opportunity to record an original composition of 7 – 9 minutes length with the WDR Funkhausorchester.
The winner of the EUROPEAN TALENT AWARD SOUND DESIGN will receive a 5.1 cinematic mix down in the prestigious sound mixing studio toruspost.
